Toubkal National Park Trek with MaraTrek

Nestled in Morocco’s majestic High Atlas Mountains, Toubkal National Park is a sanctuary for adventurers, dreamers, and culture seekers. Just 70 km (≈43 miles) from Marrakech, this stunning park spans over 100,000 hectares of rugged peaks, forested valleys, and traditional Berber villages.

Whether you’re trekking to Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest summit, or exploring tranquil trails beneath juniper and cedar trees, MaraTrek ensures your journey is guided, safe, and unforgettable.

🌿 Getting There:

Your adventure begins in Marrakech, where a one-hour scenic drive winds into the Ourika Valley—the gateway to the park. From there, trails lead deep into the heart of the Atlas, accessible only on foot or by mule.

For most visitors, the village of Imlil serves as the perfect base—home to warm hospitality, delicious tagines, and the starting point for most guided treks.

🥾 What to Do in Toubkal National Park:

1. Visit the Ecomuseum
Start at the Toubkal Ecomuseum between Asni and Imlil to learn about the park’s ecology, culture, and conservation efforts.

2. Hike the Tamadote Green Circuit
This 6 km trail meanders through lush forest, mountain streams, and hidden viewpoints—ideal for families and first-time hikers.

3. Immerse in Berber Culture
Stop in local villages for mint tea or a home-cooked meal. With MaraTrek, you can meet residents, learn traditional bread-making, or visit mountain markets.

4. Summit Mount Toubkal
For thrill-seekers, reaching 4,167 meters (13,671 ft) is the ultimate reward. This two-day climb requires a certified guide—MaraTrek’s experienced team, including local guide Omar, makes it accessible and safe.

🦅 Wildlife & Natural Beauty:
